Minutes:
- Introductions, review of roles and responsibilities:
- Angie Braegger voted in as secretary.
- Review of Trust Lands funds:
- no change yet- most funds go to personnel, so will be changing each month
- Discussed statewide problem of shortages of staff in education:
- still need 2 aide positions. Several offers to talk to people/advertise at various places.
- PTA fundraising efforts: Jen Geddes
- Note going home with options: amazonsmile, boxtops with app, Lee’s rewards and need for families to fill out free/reduced lunch applications
- Other ideas: Monthly eat out night at various restaurants. Families are not required to attend all, maybe plan on 1 or 2 in the year
- also discussed, when does Staples donate to Cache Elementaries?
- Sept. or Oct. main fundraiser will be Krispy Kreme cards
- Other fundraising efforts: asking businesses to donate to updating/adding onto the playground. Many offered to help contact ones they know. Tami M. writing a couple of grants for this as well.
- Other discussion items:
- Bus always late.
- Looking into transportation routes (also possibility of combining some?)
- Our school is going to pilot an app of tracking busses in real time.
- Concern brought up of Maverik light: safety of students.
- City has a volunteer there before and after school. If others want to help, contact City offices. Looking into permanent solutions
- Many complications, UDOT, ordinances, not marked School Zone, speed limit, etc.
- Parent handbook needs to be updated on times Next meeting, Sept. 12, 2022
